Delay The Disease
The YMCA is dedicated to helping people with Parkinson’s disease (PD) manage their symptoms and maintain a quality of life. It’s one of the many reasons we offer OhioHealth Delay the DiseaseTM, a fitness program designed to empower people with PD to take control of the disease with daily exercise.
The empowering results of our Delay the Disease fitness program can help with:
- Moving about with ease and confidence in a crowd
- Getting out of bed or rising from a chair independently
- Improved handwriting; dressing independently
- Diminishing worry that stiffness, slow steps and other symptoms are obvious, regaining a sense of moving with normalit
Dates: Monthly – join at any time!
Teams will compete for 8 weeks and the team with the biggest percent of weight loss, wins. Individual weights will not be posted. The competition includes 16 training sessions (2 per week) with a Personal Trainer (each team will be matched up with their own personal trainer). Top 3 teams will receive awards.

Fee: Members $100/person | Non-Members $200/person

Lazy Man Tri
Complete an Ironman Triathlon in just 4 weeks and receive a Y Lazy Man T-Shirt! Two events to choose from.
Ages: 7th grade and up
Traditional Challenge: Biking 112 miles, Run/Walk 26.2 miles, Swim 2.4 miles
Non-Swimmer Challenge: Biking 112 miles, Run/Walk 26.2 miles, Row 35,000 meters
